Memphis -7 Tulane has a serious problem here & Memphis has the value: How does a defense allowing more than 400 yards per game slow down a Memphis offense averaging 517? The Tigers bring balance that makes defensive adjustments a nightmare. Jaylin Carter leads a rushing attack producing 247 yards per game, while QB Marcus Stokes has thrown 16 TD's against just three interceptions. Memphis can pound the football, stretch the field and punish a Tulane secondary that hasn't handled efficient passing attacks particularly well. The Green Wave rank 119th nationally in total defense and struggle to generate pressure, giving Stokes time to find his receivers. Meanwhile, Tulane averages fewer than 19 points per game, and its offensive line has struggled protecting the QB. Yes, Memphis has some defensive vulnerabilities against the run, but Tulane still needs to turn those opportunities into TD's to keep pace. UNDER 50.5 Washington and Purdue have value to the UNDER. For starters, weather is going to play a factor here. The forecast is calling for wind gusts up to 30 mph, which will make it difficult for these QB's to throw the ball. That should force more emphasis on the ground game and keep the clock moving. Purdue's defense comes in with momentum as well, allowing just 17 and 13 points in its last two games while consistently putting opponents behind the sticks. Washington has managed only 91 rushing yards per game, and injuries have thinned its backfield considerably. That makes sustaining drives even tougher, especially if the Huskies are forced to start their backup QB. Neither offense figures to have much success attacking downfield in these conditions, and shorter throws combined with conservative play-calling should keep possessions lengthy. Purdue has found success leaning on its running game lately, and there's little reason to abandon that approach with the wind howling.
