We hope you didn’t miss out on Matt Fargo’s college basketball picks today.  Matt has been providing profits for his customers for years.  Here’s a look at his play on the Northeastern/Michigan game.  Our college basketball odds list Michigan as a 5.5 point favorite in this match up.  Let’s see which side Matt took.

**5** NCAA 2K Hoops Classic Side Winner** Northeastern won impressively yesterday despite a lackluster shooting effort where it shot only 42 percent from the floor. Making up for that was free throw shooting as the Huskies went 24-26 from the line. That percentage will be hard to match but they shot 73 percent from the free throw line last season so the success will be there. The Huskies will be in the thick of three CAA race as they return all five starters from the 14-17 (9-9) team from last season.

Seven of those losses came by six points or fewer, including two-point losses to Maryland and Boston College, and also a nine-point loss to Connecticut so things could have been a lot better last season. The Huskies are led by guard Matt Janning who is a preseason All-CAA selection. He is one of the league’s best shooters and with All-CAA rookie point guard Chase Allen, this is one of the stronger backcourts in the conference. The duo combined for 24 points, seven assists, 10 boards and just two turnovers.

Manny Adako leads the Huskies frontcourt as he averaged 10.6 ppg as a sophomore and his 57 percent shooting from the floor was 4th in CAA last season. He only scored six points yesterday but was 2-2 from the field. Every four years, college teams get to start practice early and play some summer and fall exhibition games. The Huskies traveled to Canada where they were able to play seven games, going 6-1. The wins mean little but the experience of playing together before every other team is absolutely enormous.

Michigan is coming off a dominating performance yesterday as it shot 51.9 percent in a 22-point win over Michigan Tech. It was far from a big test and the Wolverines could struggle tonight against a veteran team. Manny Harris is a star, he scored 30 points on Tuesday, but after that, there is not much experience or much depth. The Wolverines have only nine scholarship players and only one senior on the team receives many minutes. They will get better as the season progresses but right now, it is upset alert time. 5* Northeastern Huskies
