Fargo’s Creighton at Dayton Picks
November 14, 2009
Year after year Matt Fargo has to be mentioned among the best basketball handicappers in the business. Nobody works harder at breaking down the college basketball spreads and explaining to clients just why he is going with the team that he is. Are you not having success with your own college basketball picks or do you just want to make sure you make as much money as possible this season? Then get signed up with expert handicapper Matt Fargo and see what he can do for you. Let’s take a look at his report from last night that had him taking Dayton over Creighton.
We don’t see too many revenge games this early in the season during non-conference play because a lot of the games are with teams that hardly if ever play each other. Last season, Dayton lost at Creighton by 18 points which was its worst loss ob the season and happened to be the only loss in the Flyers first 15 games of the season. Dayton only shot 35.7 percent from the floor while it watched the Bluejays hit 52 percent (13-25) from behind the arc. The Flyers have had this game circled since last December 10th. Dayton is the team to beat in the Atlantic Ten this season as it is absolutely loaded. The Flyers went 27-8 last season, won a first round game in the NCAA Tournament and bring back 11 of the top 12 scorers from that team. They are led by forward Chris Wright who is the unanimous preseason Atlantic Ten Player of the Year. He is extremely athletic and is a tough matchup for the Bluejays. Dayton has plenty of experience as it has three senior starters who have played a remarkable 299 out of 300 games including 225 starts according to Blue Ribbon. This experience along with incredible depth is going to make it tough on opposing teams. Creighton will be playing with a chip on its shoulder this season after getting the NCAA Tournament snub last year. The Bluejays are going to be a very solid team once again but they did lose the best player in the conference as MVC Player of the Year Booker Woodfox has moved on. Creighton has one of the best home floor advantages around but on the road it is a different story. The Bluejays are 2-62 all-time on the road against ranked teams according to the team’s official athletic site including losses in 24 straight games. They have not defeated a ranked team on the road since 1978. Dayton meanwhile has won 20 straight home games. 9* Dayton Flyers
